The dime Silver accreditation confirms that City Church follows all of the financial best practices recommended for a church of its size. This includes, but is not limited to, Bill Pay processes and controls, Expense management reviews and controls, Cash counting and depositing controls, Donor accounting management, Month-end reconciliations and review and financial management reporting. While City Church follows all of the financial best practices, we do not require them to produce financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as that is not a requirement at this time. City Church functions on a modified cash basis of accounting, which is standard practice for an organization such as this. City Church
The story of City Church began in 2010 at the Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, NC. The Summit Church, led by J.D. Greear, communicated a vision to plant 1,000 churches in 40 years. City Church was birthed out of that vision and Pastor Trevor Atwood was compelled to plant one of those 1,000 in Murfreesboro, TN. City Church exists to multiply gospel change, for broken people, on purpose.
